Honda Recall

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. has issued a voluntary safety recall in coordination with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission for specific Honda GCV170 and GCV200 general purpose engines and HRN216 and HRX217 lawn mowers.

The reason for the recall is a potential malfunction in the camshaft decompressor mechanism, which can result in excessive force required to pull the recoil starter rope when starting the engine. This can lead to a kickback of the starter grip, increasing the risk of injury. In cases where units have an electric starter, it may fail to start the engine successfully.
